Choir

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is a traditional four-part choir consisting of men and women with differing degrees of musical skills, united by a love of singing and praising God through music. The Choir sings a wide range of music from traditional to modern styles. Choir members build their musical and vocal skills through rehearsals and learning from each other in a relaxed, supportive, and fun atmosphere. NO auditions are required.

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings in the church from 7:00-8:30pm with additional seasonal rehearsals and sectionals as needed.

The Choir sings at Mass every Sunday from the beginning of September to Pentecost Sunday, altering Mass times each month (i.e. September 9:30am, October 11:00am, November 4:30pm). In addition to weekly Masses, the Choir sings on Christmas Eve, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and special liturgies throughout the year. Because of the amount of music the Choir must prepare, consistent weekly attendance is necessary and required. Other than illness, a two-week advance notice of Sunday/Holy Day absence is requested.

We only ask that you attend the 1:45 pm rehearsal before the Christmas Eve Mass begins. The Youth Choir will have featured songs that they will sing on their own. The Holy Spirit Youth Choir is open to all young singers from 1stgrade through 12thgrade. Our singers are a community of young people invested in sharing their faith through beautiful music. The Youth Choir leads the congregation in song at one Mass per month in addition to other special celebrations throughout the liturgical year.

Beginning in September, rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00pm in the church. As we approach certain special Masses, our rehearsals may be extended by 30 minutes and may have an additional rehearsal before Mass. A schedule of our Masses and rehearsals will be provided at the beginning of each semester. Consistent attendance is expected and encouraged for singers to learn the music, to foster community and friendship, and to gain a deeper understanding of our role as music ministers for our parish.

All are welcome and NO auditions are required. "All God's children got a place in the choir!"
