Children's and Teen Choir

Children’s Choir and a NEW Teen Choir (grades 3 through college) have begun! We currently meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:15pm in the music area of the church. Once we have a larger group of teens, we will have separate rehearsal times for both groups.  No audition is required.

Let's do another VIRTUAL children and teen choir for Easter!

Seeking any HSCC children or teens (1st grade - 12th grade) interested in participating in a virtual Easter choir! No experience necessary. We will ask that your student attend some Zoom rehearsals to learn one song. Then families will record their student(s) at home singing the song and it will be edited together with the other children of the parish singing. We will play the recording during the Easter Masses and it will also appear on our parish YouTube page.

Zoom rehearsals:

  • Monday, February 22, 5:30pm
  • Wednesday, February 24, 5:30pm
  • Monday, March 1, 5:30pm

Your child does not need to have been in the choir with me before, nor do they need to commit to the choir once we can resume our choir. (We would love to have them!) While we cannot sing together in person, we can still provide our parish the beautiful gift of song during this coming Easter season.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir consists of parishioners with differing degrees of musical skills united by our love of singing and our desire to praise God through music.  We sing a wide range of music from traditional to modern. Choir members build their musical and vocal skills, learning from each other in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 PM with other seasonal/sectional rehearsals as-needed.  We sing most Sundays, and at most Holy Day liturgies from September through May. Because of the amount of music, the choir must prepare, consistent attendance is necessary and expected.  No audition is required.

Cantors

Our cantors are parishioners who volunteer their time to help lead the assembly and proclaim the Psalm at our weekend and Holy Day Masses.  A strong, pleasant singing voice and public speaking skills are needed.  An audition is required.  Contact the music director for specifics.
